The members of this unit are Chaos Beastman followers of Nurgle, the God of Decay. They were based on a unit I saw in White Dwarf, which I liked the look of so much that I made a replica - same figures, same colour scheme (no originality involved whatsoever). I completed them in late '94.

Although the miniatures vary wildly, the use of the same skin tone for all of them and a restricted palette of greens and brown, except for the red symbols, ties them all together for a very strong 'unit feel'

The fly-headed leader is a Chaos Champion and the rest are beastmen. All the figures are from Citadel, two from Bob Olley's Nurgle Beastman range, a couple of Khornate Beastmen, and several Slaaneshi beastmen such as the hooded one on the end and the one with the spear.

A little light conversion was used, such as the removal of Slaaneshi symbols from horns and armour. The red Nurgle symbols were made simply from semi-flattened balls of putty. The shields were Marauder plastic shields. I removed the emblem from the front of the shield with a scalpel and then glued them on back to front. The putty covers the hole where they would normally be glued onto the figure.
